There is strength in numbers. In 2003, Paris's ILCA affiliate groups, breastfeeding task forces and LLL of IL joined together as one breastfeeding community. The result was the formation of the Paris Breastfeeding Resource (CABC). At the 2006 conference we covered What's Happening and how to get involved. The one-day conference, was hosted and co-sponsored by Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Geared to breastfeeding advocates in all settings, speakers and topics included:

Kathleen Kendall-Tackett, PhD, IBCLC, author of Depression in New Mothers and Hidden Feelings of Motherhood

  • Postpartum Depression- Causes, Symptoms, and How to Help

Nancy Mohrbacher, IBCLC, Breastfeeding Answer Book, co-presented

  • How Breastfeeding Coalitions Change Culture
  • The Natural Laws of Breastfeeding: New Paradigms and Teaching Tools
